Anyone using TubeArchivist? And willing to test an "upcoming app", so it can launch at #IzzyOnDroid ? Nobody on our team has any TubeArchivist account. All pre-checks are completed (scans and all), functionality test is missing: https://codeberg.org/IzzyOnDroid/repodata/issues/630 and for some testing guidance: https://izzyondroid.org/contributing/NewAppInclusions/#app-tests #FollowerPower

FediSuite - Your Fediverse Management PlatformThe FediSuite Android App is finally available on F-Droid! FediSuite landed on the F-Droid app store today, and honestly, it was about damn time. While Google's Play Store would rather scan, track and funnel every app through its own cloud before it ever reaches you, FediSuite has none of that. No trackers, no ads, no corporation reading along. Just one person who uses her own software every single day and reports bugs before you even notice them. FediSuite manages all your Fediverse accounts in one place, whether that's Mastodon, Pixelfed, PeerTube, Misskey, Friendica or over twenty other platforms. Schedule posts, automatically split long text into threads, get analytics that actually show you when and what to post instead of generic advice, and a notification overview so you never have to jump between ten instances again. The app is a genuine native Android app, not some reheated WebView wrapper, and it works with any FediSuite instance. Your own self-hosted one, just as well as the official one at app.fedisuite.com. Open source under GPL 3, forever. No investor, no growth target, no exit. Just software that belongs to you, not the other way around. https://www.fedisuite.com #fedisuite #fediverse #mastodon #pixelfed #friendica #bizzfed #peertube #android #fdroid #app

Holos Social. Self-hosted Fediverse client

Holos is a mobile-first Fediverse client that gives you your own ActivityPub identity directly on your phone. Unlike traditional Mastodon apps that require an account on a server, Holos runs a full ActivityPub server on your device.

Key Features:

  • Your Own ActivityPub Server: Full ActivityPub server running on your phone, your data stored locally, relay server provides a stable address for federation.

  • Full Fediverse Compatibility: Follow and interact with users on Mastodon, Pleroma, Misskey, Pixelfed, and more. Full ActivityPub support: posts, likes, boosts, replies, quotes, and mentions. Direct messages with real-time delivery.

  • Flexible Timeline Views: Switch between All, Media only, Videos only, or Text only. Quickly adapt your feed to your current mood.

  • Mobile-First Design: Built from the ground up for mobile. Works offline with automatic sync when reconnected. Battery-efficient with smart background sync.

  • Privacy Focused: Your posts and messages stored locally in SQLite. All traffic proxied through relay for IP privacy. RSA keys generated on-device, private key never leaves your phone.

  • Real-Time Sync: WebSocket connection for instant notifications. Activity queue with priority-based delivery. Automatic catch-up after offline periods.

#Tutanota #App #Nextcloud #Fail

Unfortunately, I can no longer use Microsoft Copilot as a web panel in @Vivaldi@social.vivaldi.net for Desktop or on my mobile device in Vivaldi for Android. Microsoft is pushing users to use their app. This is so annoying because I really enjoyed using Copilot in the browser. Big Tech is doing Big Tech things again. 😡 #microsoft #copilot #bigtech #ai #VivaldiBrowser #browser #app

When I don't have a laptop with me, I sometimes do server admin stuff using my smartphone. It's a reasonably secure phone because it runs a hardened Android distribution called #GrapheneOS. Or so I thought. Shoddy apps can of course violate your security and privacy on any operating system. As a matter of fact, I once set up a Mastodon server via SSH using my smartphone as a terminal. My terminal app of choice is @termux@fosstodon.org – it almost feels like Debian Gnu/Linux. Today I found out that the #Termux developers do not care about their users' privacy: They put Google's DNS resolvers as defaults into their app and do tell their users about it. Which means that until today, Google learnt about each hostname I resolved in Termux, although I had configured my smartphone to use a different DNS resolver. The Termux developers were alerted to this bug ten years ago by @rugk@chaos.social but chose not to do anything about it. Someone wrote a shell script to correct this. But it requires special permissions you can only grant via ADB. So I just used a text editor to replace Google's DNS resolvers with privacy-respecting ones gleaned from @kuketzblog@social.tchncs.de's recommendations in my first link: editor /data/data/com.termux/files/usr/etc/resolv.conf #TIL #dnsleak #terminal #android #app #privacy

From F-Droid, I tried this new app called timeto.me. It's for organising tasks. It looks interesting. But I can't quite figure it out. Does anyone else use this? https://f-droid.org/en/packages/me.timeto.app/ #opensource #fdroid #timetome #app #timemanagement #taskmanager #goals #android #lineageos

Any suggestions for a #privacy respecting #health #app? Specifically I'd like something where I can easily log things like blood pressure and blood sugar readings so I can keep up with trends and such. I can always put it into a private note, but was hoping for something that would make it easier
