Democrats had a historic victory across our country in a Blue Tsunami that was a crushing, generational rebuke to Trump and the entire corrupt GOP. This was possible because of you - your votes, your calls, your campaigning, your donations, your involvement in your community. You did this, you delivered it, you own it. The Guardian analyzes your historic victory. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-interactive/2026/nov/04/midterm-election-results-maps-guide Here's what's next. https://www.ms.now/opinion/democrats-win-congress-2026-midterms-trump-accountability Yes, your vote mattered. https://www.ms.now/opinion/vote-midterm-election-data This is the biggest Democratic victory since WATERGATE. https://www.gelliottmorris.com/p/democrats-win-us-house-senate-in #uspol #democracy #bluewave #bluetsunami #democrats #youdidthis

When Donald Trump says 'not to my knowledge' 450 times in a deposition and gets convicted of 34 felonies, that's not a legal strategy—that's a confession. Every MAGA accusation is a confession. We need leaders who hold him accountable, not bootlick him. #Democracy

Tomorrow morning I’ll sign in for my 16 hr shift as a NYS election inspector. I’ll boot up the machines. I’ll provide voters w the correct ballot for their precinct. I’ll make sure every ballot is cast and counted. I’ll do this for every registered Democrat, Republican, Third Party voter, and Independent. Because voting is an inviolable right of citizenship. Because #democracy depends on free and fair elections. Because we are the caretakers of this Republic. #midterms2026

As (another Emeritus Prof.) John Holford (UNottingham) argues, one clear way to rebuild democracy in this country is to revive & rebuild adult education. As someone who was a mature student (studying between my mid-20s & mid-30s) I completely concur: for many, access to all levels of education after school-leaving age would be a major route to self-fulfilment & a more informed electorate (which is why our political class are lukewarm). #education #politics #democracy h/t Guardian Letters

Protest Thread #135: Praise Be! Today my bridge troll pals and some people from other groups got together for a Handmaid's march downtown. The goal was to make a spectacle to remind people to VOTE. When we were planning, I was like "I'm down for this, but are costumes going to be provided? My taco might be a bit out of place." Red Handmaid robes and white bonnets were indeed provided, although for a few of the shorter women they had to be hastily hemmed up with safety pins. #50501movement
