@Phangurl@tenforward.social thanks for letting me know!

Disasters on colonial sleeper ships seems to be it’s very own SciFi subgenre.

Perhaps I will run a poll…

My preference would to be to kick off with a one time joint watch of the movie Per Aspera Ad Astra (2026) from Mainland China in collaboration with #KungFuSat and #ActionMatinee if their hosts are up for it.

The movie takes place on a colonial sleeper ship which wakes up a sysadmin to check out the AI responsible for the virtual environments of the sleepers. A bit of Star Trek professionalism and holodeck malfunctions, the Matrix, and tributes to old HK action movies mixed in.

It’s a fun ride but only available for streaming on Netflix.

"The success story of an independent French company that has become a global player alongside the music streaming giants"

A 45.7% increase in revenue in 2025. We're curious to know if the #BuyFromEU movement may have contributed to this?

Merci ! #jeuxvideo #communaute #streaming

Looking for something intimate this #BandcampFriday ? Look no further than Drew Nold and Emily Gray’s “Not Falling”! This delicate love song (which shouldn’t be one) features some beautiful guitar work, stunning vocals and… it wouldn’t be a love song without a cello, right? Check it out on #bandcamp or any of the #streaming services! https://www.submithub.com/link/drew-nold-and-emily-gray-not-falling #love #newmusic #singersongwriter #acoustic

https://thoughts.pivic.com/74-of-independent-artists-make-less-than-1000-usd-per-year-survey-shows/ The Ditto Independent Music Report 2026 results are out. Over 5,000 independent artists have answered the Ditto survey that shows some major problems for independent artists. I've quickly written a few thoughts on the matter. I think music-streaming should be regulated, that we should avoid bad platforms, I recommend that we buy music as often as possible, and push our politicians to make a difference! Today's Bandcamp Friday btw, let's buy music! #music #MusicBusiness #BrokenRecord #streaming #BandcampFriday #regulation

I'm now running navidrome¹ to stream my music collection and it's pretty great. I'm also very grateful that Picard² exists to fill in the metadata on CDs I ripped 20+ years ago. No gratitude to all the AI bots scraping musicbrainz/listenbrainz constantly and ruining things, especially when they could just bulk-download the data legitimately³. — ¹ https://navidrome.org/ ² https://picard.musicbrainz.org/ ³ https://blog.metabrainz.org/2026/08/19/growing-pains-an-update-on-the-listenbrainz-service-status/ #music #streaming #navidrome #homelab #musicbrainz

A magical thing has happened. My Anti-Spotify video has reached a view count sufficient such that, if every viewer canceled their Spotify sub and switched to Metrolist, then it would mathematically cost Spotify a million dollars a year. (Assuming they're subbed at the $21.99 tier.) Not bad for a small youtuber and a single dumb video. https://youtu.be/V9gmTUVO7Nc #Spotify #Music #Streaming #YouTube #Video #AISlop
