Prediction: The #Tesla #Cybertruck is going to be a flop. If it does manage to begin delivery this month, it’s going to be riddled with build quality issues and unforeseen (or foreseen, if you’re actually reasonable) problems with its body panels and bizarre design, leading potential buyers to look elsewhere. Now that you can actually buy decent (and decent-looking) EV trucks from Ford, GM, and Rivian, the Cybertruck’s competitive appeal is gone. I’m also taking guesses at the pricing. I think the promised $40k base price is pure fiction, and will never see the light of day. Tesla will start deliveries at some top-end trim which I’m going to guess will end up being $85k–$100k. Medium term, I think the Cybertuck will be a laughingstock, a weird anomaly in automotive history. Maybe in another 20 years, it will become a collectible curiosity. What do you think? #cars #EV

Quoting

I often hear Americans & rich brits justify buying oversized, polluting vehicles by claiming they need them because they live in the "countryside".

I call bullshit, Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce, the Citroen C15⬇

Replying to
@stux@mstdn.social At least in Europe, that thing won't get regulatory approval anyway — just like the rolling Tesla dumpster (Cybertruck). #Tesla #Cybertruck #Europe

Tesla reaches 80 mph before Highway 84 head-on crash 9burgring founder states he does not condone reckless driving "...9burgring creator Ethan Garabedian said the driver was representing Tesla at the event and taking photographers on a test drive as the meet ended....The video, taken by a passenger in the back seat beginning a minute before the crash, shows passengers jostling around as the vehicle speeds up. It ends with screeching tires as the driver loses control and the screen goes blank. ..." https://www.almanacnews.com/news/2026/09/21/tesla-reaches-80-mph-before-highway-84-head-on-crash/ #tesla #crash

The #Tesla Diner has been the site of some of the nation's most artistic protests, ever since Elon inexplicably opened it in occupied #LosAngeles. Obviously, few people go there any more-- the food is as awful as Elon's reputation-- but it sure does draw a protest crowd! What few counter protestors they get these days are the really unhinged ones, as is the case in protests throughout the US. #TeslaTakedown

Musk Targets Transgender Issues in Key Midterm Senate Races Elon Musk began a political advertising blitz on Tuesday in three states that could decide control of the Senate, as his political group began attacking Democrats over transgender issues by accusing them of allowing men to compete in women’s sports. The spots from Mr. Musk’s group, America PAC, target three top Democratic nominees for Senate: James Talarico in Texas, Sherrod Brown in Ohio and Josh Turek in Iowa.

Electrek: Tesla’s record month: 4 fatal Autopilot and Full Self-Driving crashes (9/15/2026) "...July 2026 was the worst month on record for Tesla driver-assist crashes. Tesla reported 236 of them to federal regulators, the most it has ever filed in a single month. Four of those crashes killed someone. In every one, Tesla’s own data says Autopilot or “Full Self-Driving” was engaged, and in every one, the public was never told the system was involved. ..." https://electrek.co/2026/09/15/tesla-four-fatal-driver-assist-crashes-july-2026/ #tesla #fsd

Electrek: Tesla Autopilot was on in I-35 crash that killed its driver (9/10/2026) "...A 2024 Tesla Model Y ran off Interstate 35 in rural Missouri, struck a guardrail, and killed its driver, a 64-year-old woman from Raymore. Troopers reported a single-vehicle wreck and said the car “went off the road.” What they didn’t say, and likely didn’t know, is that Tesla’s own report to federal regulators says the car’s driver-assist system was engaged. This is part of an ongoing Electrek investigation matching reported crashes to Tesla’s redacted NHTSA data...." https://electrek.co/2026/09/10/tesla-driver-assist-i35-guardrail-pattonsburg/ #tesla #fsd #death
