Three things that I am grateful for today: 🍂 ... apparently, I won't be contagious (pneumonia) after Friday. 🍂 ... I didn't need my inhaler on our evening walk, although our walking pace was very very slow. The inhaler was very helpful on our longer late morning walk. 🍂 ... antibiotics. I try to avoid them if it's not 100% necessary, but in this case it is. Today is definitely a tiny bit better than yesterday. #3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings #gratitude

  1. Dipping my toe cautiously back into social media now that the US elections are over. Did you miss me? (It was surprisingly easy to withdraw for a few weeks…)
  2. Got the happy news last week that my first great-grand-embryo is on its way & will arrive in late spring. 🥳
  3. Signed off on the final proof for the family history project I began in September — it’s in the printers’ hands now.
  4. Bonus: This season’s NZ Royal Northern albatross couple have already produced their egg & are incubating & canoodling. They’re a very affectionate pair! (“Lady Hawk” YouTube channel.)

  • I saw a blue fairy wren yesterday! It's quite unusual to see them in town, so it felt like a real gift

  • the mulberries are starting to turn! Now let's see if the birds leave some for us when they're ripe

  • friends who care and ask about the things they know are challenging you, even when they're facing their own challenges

Three things I am grateful for on this quiet morning:

  1. I am grateful for habits that support the person I am becoming.

  2. I am grateful for this quote by Thích Nhat Hanh, which helps me be a better friend to myself: "Be a friend to yourself. If you are a true friend to yourself, you can be a true friend to a loved one. A romantic crush is short-lived, but friendship and loving kindness can last very long and continue to grow."

  3. I am grateful I can observe other people's habits and goals without internalizing them or comparing myself, knowing their lives are theirs and mine is mine.
